Free Pick - NBA Draft Prop Bet
The NBA draft definitely doesn't have as many options as the NFL draft for betting but we have one player that we really like going into the draft.
Ousmane Dieng is one of the more intriguing prospects in this year's NBA draft. He turned 19 on May 21 after finishing his first season with the New Zealand Breakers of the National Basketball League in Australia. A quick glance at his averages in 23 games with New Zealand won’t look appealing: 8.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 39.8% field goal percentage, 27% 3-point percentage but the majority of that production came in the last 11 game where he showed significant improvement.
He is 6-foot-10 and 200 pounds with a reported 7-foot-1 wingspan, he has the tools to play the 3 and 4 in the NBA while possessing guard-like ball-handling abilities and being able to create space for jumpers. He combines his size with a very smooth shooting stroke and can shoot the 3 very well, going 37% from downtown in his last 11 games. He also projects to be a versatile defender with his speed and lateral quickness. In the right system with the patience to develop him, his upside is something special, Giannis Antetokounmpo comes to mind, who was 196 pounds on draft day. Teams are looking for superstars in the NBA and this kid has the game and size to be a big time NBA player, it will be tough for teams to pass up such a high upside prospect. He played professionally last year in France which gives him a lot of good experience and with all the international players coming into the NBA and having instant success we think a team will draft him in the top 10. We bet him under 13.5 +105 and +130 to go in the top 10.
