CFB Conference Value Bets

It doesn't feel like the top teams in college football are quite as good as years past and this presents some value in conference champion futures.

Kansas State - 22/1

The Wildcats are coming off a tough loss to a pretty good Tulane team last week, in a spot that felt like a bit of a look ahead for them with Oklahoma on deck. They have a huge game with Oklahoma this week and we like their chances to pull off the upset. The Sooners really haven't been tested yet and this will be the first time Venables and his team will play a big conference game. They have cruised through the season this far but we really don't believe in their talent level and think this conference is much more wide open than the odds suggest. There are 4 teams that can realistically win the Big 12 and we firmly believe that Kansas State is in that group. They have some really good talent on the team starting with stud RB Duece Vaughn and veteran QB Adrian Martinez who has really resurrected his career with under Chris Klieman. We really like Klieman as a coach as well and think he has his team in a really good spot to make a serious run at the Big 12. Bet this now before they play Oklahoma as these odds will get significantly cut if they can pull off the upset this week.

NC State - 10/1

The Wolfpack have really been building some good momentum over the last few years, with Clemson's falling off they are really in a great spot to take advantage of a weak ACC conference this year. They have a big game against the Tigers coming up in 2 weeks, a game that they will be a dog in, but we like their chances on pulling off an upset against a Clemson team that still looks very shaky on offense. It should be a defensive game and we like the Wolfpack's chances of pulling out a tight win in that contest. If they do that then they just have 2 tough game left; Wake Forest and Florida State both at home. These teams really don't scare you too much and although they are in the top 25 at the moment they really haven't been impressive so far this year. Clemson has to play Wake Forest on the road this week which is a tough game. Even if they win that however, it's still works in favor of NC State because Wake Forest takes a conference loss. Clemson also has to play at Florida State which is another tough road game in conference later this year.

If NC State can pull off the upset at Clemson in 2 weeks they will be the favorite to come out of the ACC Atlantic and we like their chances of beating both Wake and FSU at home later in the year. 10/1 looks like great value especially if they can knock off Clemson, which would put them directly in the drivers seat in the ACC Atlantic. There is also a chance that Clemson drops a game this week at Wake Forest which would also put the Wolfpack in a great spot.
