The Pac 12 is wide open and there isn't a team with much more talent that the Oregon Ducks. Their defense will be by far the most talented in the conference and their offense should be explosive as they have speed all over the field.

Top Shelf Futures

Top to bottom Oregon has the most talent in the Pac 12 Conference. Their defense is littered with 4 star recruits and the talent pool seems to regenerate every year. Offensively they have incredible speed at every skill position and CJ Verdell is one of the most talented backs in the entire country. Quarterback is a bit of a wildcard but the have a more than capable starter in senior Anthony Brown but 5 star recruit Ty Thompson could be the real deal which would have them thinking about heading to the NCAA Playoff.

Oregon Path to the Pac 12 Title

The first thing to like about Oregon is the talent and depth that they have at nearly every position. They return 14 starters from last year's team that was already very skilled. The offensive line is young and lacking experience but they are a talented group and have shown growth throughout the offseason. The defense is fast and tough, they should be hard for most teams in the Pac 12. The talent at WR and RB is up there with all other major level schools across the country. The QB play should be improved from last year and 5 star recruit Ty Thompson could really help that out. Mario Cristobal has always been a great recruiter and a solid coach. This is an Oregon team that is loaded with talent and should be in the conversation for the NCAA playoff as they generally are.

Oregon's schedule is another thing to like when considering the for the Pac 12 Title. They don't have to play USC or Arizona St. They should be favored in every conference game. They have to go on the road at Washington and Utah neither of which will be easy but Utah lost a lot of talent to the draft and UW is still trying to gain traction and find an identity. UCLA also has heightened expectations but it seems as if the game has passed Chip Kelly by and this is most likely a make or break it year for him.

CJ Verdell is an absolute beast at running back but often gets ignored when discussing 2021/22 players to watch or potential Heisman candidates. He should have a monster year, he said himself that he wants to get to 2000 yds. While that may be a little high, but don't be surprised if he is pushing for the Oregon Ducks single season rushing record by the end of the year.

With a strong run game, a stout defense, and potentially elite play from the QB position the Ducks are a great play for the Pac 12 division and should at least get themselves to the pac 12 Championship.
